Is There a Maximum Image File Size?

Understanding Image File Size Limits for Snapizzi and Partner Platforms

Snapizzi accepts image files up to 32 MB. But before you start uploading huge files, keep in mind: bigger isn't always better.

For most photography needs, especially for prints up to 8×10 or 11×14, images in the 6–9 MB range provide excellent print quality while keeping your workflow fast and efficient. Larger files increase upload times, processing time, synchronization, and storage requirements without providing noticeable improvements for most customers.

Recommendations

  • Right-size your images. If you aren't producing prints larger than 11×14, there's generally no benefit to uploading 20 MB+ images.

  • Remember that speed matters. Larger files take longer to upload, process, organize, synchronize, and publish, slowing down your overall workflow.

  • Optimize before uploading. Resize and compress images while maintaining excellent visual quality.

  • Think beyond upload time. Even when a platform accepts very large files, smaller, optimized images make your entire workflow faster and more efficient.

If you're ever unsure, aim for the 6–9 MB sweet spot. It provides excellent print quality for most photography applications while keeping your workflow running smoothly across Snapizzi and the gallery platforms you use.
